Biography/Brief History:

What fuels faith in a world without it? What fuels innovation when everything around you is in pieces? Zebrica has been in ruins for so long, yet there are still many whom follow the old ways. Many of these tribes stick to their old traditions. They survived together, they grew together...and in the case of HIS tribe, they told stories to one another. The Mwalimu's mother was the priestess of his tribe. Believed to be able to understand the thoughts of others simply by looking into their eyes, it may have come as a surprise that when she tried this on her only foal, the results were rather...unique. For he was an odd foal indeed. Rather than play with his friends, he would often spend most of his time chattering with the very air around him. Many of the other tribesponies worried for him. Their priestess'  child was odd in the head. Perhaps he was effected by the ill winds? When she sat him down before her in the privacy of her tent, what she saw inside of his eyes made her weep - not in sadness, but at the beauty of it all. She saw within him not his own mind, but the minds of others long gone. Even her own parents. The credibility of this is questioned even by the others of the tribe, yet she claimed one thing in particular - her son would receive the same training she had - for he had been blessed with an expansive mind that accepted creativity, and had a mark that reflected that.

Such was his know-how that he became a chief artisan amongst the tribe, supposedly borrowing the knowledge of ancient spirits through catalystic masks that he carried with him. His true name had become forgotten. After all, everyone called him by his role now - Mwalimu, the Teacher. Mwalimu's greatest asset was not his knowledge alone ,but rather how he applied it. He would lead parties out into the wasting wilds, coming back with supplies and making medicine and tools for his people. Life was good. He was respected and beloved, a paragon amongst the ponies of his tribe...

Yet that is why it came as a shock to many of them when he spoke of leaving them all for the foreseeable future. He claimed to be beckoned to a land far from their own. A land that was ravaged most horrifically and filled with horrific dangers. Equestria called to him, he had claimed, and it would teach him more and more. And so, confident that he had left a well educated legacy, he cheerfully ventured his way into another dangerous wasteland with a smile upon his face and his possessions close at hoof, he planned on exploring this land for it's bountiful treasures, turning those treasures into wares that the ponies of the land required...and of course, selling them for a marginally fair profit. What? Being a guru DOES have it's rewards.
